📋 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Mealio ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

These Terms apply to the iOS application published on the Apple App Store. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for the App.

🤖 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Mealio uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) to generate recipes, cooking guidance, and nutritional estimates. By using these features, you acknowledge:

• AI-generated recipes are suggestions and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions.
• You are responsible for verifying that ingredients and techniques are appropriate for your dietary needs, allergies, and health conditions.
• AI doneness assessments (e.g., "is this chicken cooked?") are supplemental guidance only and must not replace a food thermometer or professional judgment.
• Nutritional estimates are approximations, not medically verified data. Consult a registered dietitian or physician for medical dietary advice.

✅ Permitted Use

You may use Mealio for personal, non-commercial cooking and meal planning purposes. You agree to:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
• Not use the App to generate harmful, misleading, or fraudulent content.
• Not circumvent rate limits, usage caps, or access controls within the App.

🧠 Intellectual Property

Mealio, its logo, branding, and original software code are owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on your iOS device.

Recipes and content generated by the AI on your behalf are for your personal use. We make no claim to recipes or meal plans stored locally on your device.

📱 In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Mealio may offer optional in-app purchases or subscriptions through the Apple App Store to unlock additional features (e.g., unlimited AI recipe generation). All transactions are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's Media Services Terms.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

⚠️ Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mealio and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:

• Consuming food prepared using AI-generated recipes.
• Reliance on AI doneness assessments or nutritional estimates.
• Service unavailability due to AI provider outages (Google Gemini API).
• Data loss resulting from device failure or App updates.

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose.

🔄 Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via an in-app notice.

⚖️ Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, binding arbitration under applicable law.
